Hi. As we have winter now, I'm again wishing that my car would start heating up the interior faster.
I know that some Stilos have a PTC heater that works until the engine warms up enough, but I can't find sufficient information to know if I can install it.
First of all, my Stilo has manual AC - does this heater work with this kind of unit?
I learned on 4cardata that this heater needs relays and resistors and a safety switch. I do have the maxifuse at the battery.
I know from this thread, that I may have a blanking panel, but I haven't checked that yet. I may just buy an entire unit if needed and I will be able to find one.

I was hoping that maybe after 10 years there will be more information on that topic. No one seemed to attempt that since :(

What I don't know is:
  • do I need any additional cables?
  • does it work with manual AC?
  • do I need any relays, resistors or a switch, or should that be already on the AC unit?
    • if yes, where do I install them? what kind do I need?
  • what part number is the heater unit? it can be both for automatic and manual if heater works for either one

A YouTube video titled "Climatronic Fiat Stilo-Retrofitted" - here in the comments this person says that they just swapped manual to auto AC and it had the heater - that leads me to believe that all the necessary components are placed in the heater unit.
