Just fitted new evo box from t'eBay, will report back after a few hundred miles....

msw109,

sorry late reply.

yes i reccomend mine or any of the others. they all do the same thing...increase fuel rail pressures to the glow plugs for EITHER increased performance OR better fuel efficiency. these 2 features seemingly oppose one another. not really.

if you drive with a light foot, then with the increased pressures, fuel is burned more efficiently and better mpg's.

if on the other hand you drive with a heavy foot (because you want to/have to ie, passing, mountains, etc), well, the increased fuel pressures are a no brainier to figure out.

i have a 2013 model. im still under warranty for 1 more year. if i bring it in for anything, i can unplug this device in 5 minutes and wouldnt feel the slightest bit guilty over it becasue its not harming the engine in the slightest.

Well after a hundred or so miles I can safely say performance has increased. Sometimes it's difficult to harness that extra due to the speed in which the dualogic gearbox works but overall it pulls better in every gear. It's almost the car it should have been. Why didn't they marry the 95 bhp engine with the dualogic gearbox anyway??

if you want to tweak the mpg's further after the chipbox you cant go to manual shifting in heavy traffic.

the computer doesnt know about traffic around you or stop lights. its a computer.

in heavy traffic i go manual...to save mpg's.

at a green light i goose it quick/hard in 1st then "drop" into 2nd gear. rinse repeat for other gears but less "quick/hard" for all the rest.

i only do this in city driving and when the traffic is really bad.

with the chipbox im averaging 5 liters/100 kilometers with only 9500km total on the car. its barely broken-in. this is 56.5 mpg UK and 47 US mpg. in city driving! for some reason i can not better this in autobahn driving. its the same or worse. maybe its becasue we carry some extra people or weight. i really dont care.

last plug for the chip box: when you have to step on it and PASS it really kicks in. big difference!
