Hello all

I no there are loads of threds about of this subject but i just wanted to comferm a few things before saturday (when i buy the kit)

Right i have looked at my standard system (1998 1.4 Sx Bravo), a couple of people have suggested the Pipercross system in my last thred but then i have read that universal kits are better ?

The current system uses a vacum off the carb (correct?) to a temp valve ? which controls a butterfly value to allow hot air into the carb (correct?) sorry hard to explain.

Does the kit fit direct onto the Carb or from the filter box (Standard filter removed) ?

So being in to minds about investing in a Pipercross or make a universal kit, my question is this....Is the Hot air intake required (i Guess it is as it will affect proformance) so on the universal kit is there a valve that will act the same as in the current system and allow me to connect a pipe to the manifold ? or what can people suggest to sort this out ?

Sorry not really looked into induction kits before and need a bit of help as a don't really understand.

Richard

P.s don't flame me for this just a new modder looking for a bit of help from the experts !

As I explained to someone else, the only difference between a universal filter and an induction kit is a set of instructions and a length of suitable pipe.

If you get a piperx induction kit it will be the same filter as if you got a piperx universal, just you won't have to mess about getting the pipework to fit it all together. As you say you are just starting out, get the kit.
As for the hot air feed, these are pointless throwbacks to the days of carbs (your car is injected, no carb :)) and serve no use unless you live somewhere that regularly gets to -10 deg. Just bin it.
