Ok so this subject is probably old news but what induction kit is going to give me the greatest power increase? I can get the jetex one for £60 = 7BHP. Is this good and how much should i expect to pay for fitting?

many Thanks
Gareth.

re-filter

That is a good price for the jetex filter mate. As far as fitting goes and reputable garage should charge no more than 20quid but it's a doddle to fit, give it a try. I fitted my jetex one in under 15 mins. The throttle responce off these is brill. You can't get a k+n one for anything under a 1600cc on the bravo (i may be wrong as it was a while ago i bought mine). Also the noise it makes is superb if combined with a back box.

green filter

In my Bravo 1.6, i put the GREEN filter, and the persons what participe in rallyes of my country, say me, this filter is the most great filter for more power and more performance.

i have just fitted a K&N

I have just fitted my K&N, it would have been easy if i had followed the instructions and left the bottom half of the old Airbox in, but i thought i looked stupid so set about cutting it up so i could get it out easyily, after i had massacred it i read on in the instructions to realise the jubilee clip which holds in on screws into this bottom half!! so it is currently loose!

any ideas would be appreciated!

i can't really make out how it would of been in the rioght place if i had followed the instructions though!

oh and it said for 1.2, 1.4 as well as 1.6 on the instructions!

pipercross

i fitted a pipercross one(for a cossie) onto my 80sx, made a lot of difference in sounds and speed

Re: pipercross

does that work? I'm after an induction kit for my HLX, but pipercross don't do one, so could i put a cossie one on???
Any help welcome.
cheers andy

K & N Fitting.

I have fitted a K & N filter to my 1.6 bravo it sounds great when you gun the beast down the road but to fit it (not in my kit instructions) you have to remove the wheel arch liner to get the old air box out its a bit tricky but worth it. Also dont use the route they tell you for the cold air intake as it involves cutting away at the radiator side panel (a bit over the top for 4-8 bhp).

sort of

I have removed the old airbox, but cut it up in the front wing then took it out bit by bit, only rtook about 10 mins, and was fairly easy.

but how is yours held in place? i had one Jubilee clip which had a threaded bit on it, which i was supposed to screw into one of the holes in the bottom of the old airbox, but obviously i can't do that as it's not there!

at the mo mine is just sort of loose, with that threaede bit wedged somewhere to slightly hold it,

Clip

I cut out the threaded bit so it didnt scratch the bodywork then just set it in a good position and left it loose. It hasnt moved a bit so im going to leave it. As for going the whole hog in removing the air box I was worried that at a leter date I might have to put it back in (just being anal really.

So which ones best ???

I'm in the same boat as Gareth.....

Looking to change the filter but don't know which one to go for....

Also - Does anyone know what the insurance think of this as a Mod... (I know its a pretty standard one but does it cost....?)

So who recommends what.....

K&N Induction Kit??
Green ??????
or Piper......???
or something else............

Which is best for Power / Smoothness... per £ Spent..

Filter Kit

Has any1 fitted 1 of these in2 an HGT ?
If so, any suggestions on how 2 go about it ?

Pics would b great

Cheers,

Rob.

Re: i have just fitted a K&N

U tool! to get your airbox out you have to take off the front wheel then undo the screws holding the arch in place then u just pull it out the bottom, simple...

Re: Re: pipercross

ello peeps (im evo~emma's boyfriend). to fit the cossie filter i used the air intake (behind bonnet grill) pipe that ran into the now removed filter box to extend the pipe from the engine to the cossie filter.then using a bit of pipe from my astra i put back onto the black air flow box
the sound is fantastic, bearing in mind emma has a functional evo6 bonnet vent
any more info just ask or mail us on
[email protected]
i will mail some piccys of it very soon as well as the other engine bay mods we doing

Well. . .

Well it only took about a min to cut it out anyway, and i have no intention of puttin it back!
