Hello all. Long time no post! Too much work recently and not enough Pandering:(

I've got an annoying indicator problem and I wonder if there is any advice out there? For the first few miles everything is fine but then left and right both stop working properly. Either with nothing or the indicators permanently on. I only recently gave a good clean and polish to the earths and I'm pretty confident it's not them at least not the hedgehog on the n/s wing. I decided to change the column switch and I thought - for a while - that had sorted it but the problem is back. Checking old threads MEP advised checking the hazzard switch for loose connections. I've done this but all seemed OK and the problem has not gone. I'm now thinking it's the relay but could a dodgy relay cause this kind of problem? There is a slight wheezing/squeeking sound at times along with the clicking of the flasher...

I guess I'll try another realy anyway but any wisdom would be appreciated!

have you cleaned the hedgehog on the drivers side under the battery? failing that try the relay.

Remind me, what Reg is the Panda in question?

If you've an old mechanical flasher unit (early mk2's had them), then that could have given up the ghost.

I personally think it sounds more like relay than earths if they either don't work and then stay on constantly. Not other lighing affected is there?

Jon.

Thanks MEP. Well, early doors this morining I've thoroughly cleaned up the hedgehog by the battery and given it liberal quantities of WD. I've done a pretty long test run and I think (fingers crossed) it's sorted the problem. If in doubt check the earths and check them again! Last time I cleaned them I used Bilt Hamber's Ferrosol. Although it's a good product for a lot of things I'm thinkin that it's not so hot on electrical connections maybe... (Panda earths at least). Just wish I hadn't spent three hours changing the column switch over yesterday morning now:eek:

P.S. it's 92 and has the more modern relay for info
