A few months ago I finally had my dream car. Just before we got home after a 3 hour drive the panda started to hold back. During a part where the panda was going up a hill it gave a puff of black smoke and stopped. Since then I have replaced a device for idling. Replaced the battery cables. Replaced the spark plugs. Now the car is at the garage. They found out that there was only a weak spark at the spark plugs. Then I ordered a new coil which they installed. When that didn't solve the problem they found out that the ignition distributor was broken. All the wires were melted. So I ordered one from Italy. Now they have installed it but then the coil didn't work. Today I brought another coil which they are going to install this afternoon. Does anyone recognize these problems? Does anyone have any tips?

if its a weak spark maybe the new coil will do it. i think your car is an .ie like mine and has an electronic ignition so next things to look at would be ignition module and the hall sensor asembly which do the same job as points do on older ignition systems.
