So i disconnected the battery today at 1 left it till 4 and as suggested left it running, let the fan come on and go off again twice and then turned it off to cool down, its still ticking over at 1.4k rpm, will see if that's better at 6 when I go home

Map sensor connected the right way? Gasket seated properly on TB and secure? Throttle cable not slightly too tight/catching?
Simple option would be refitting your old ECU and seeing if it still does it. My money is on yes.

ive fitted two gaskets on the spacer on between manifold and one between the tb and spacer, map sensor was already connected to the manifold so i didnt touch that, i did check to cable and all seem ok with that, it also dips down to 1k rpm when you blip the throttle then rises back to 1.4k after hunting twice, also when u let off the throttle when driving there is a momentary delay before it starts to slow, this is making me think tps or icv

i ragged the s**t out of it all the way home from work (only on private roads as james very responsibly suggested) and although it goes like stink compared to what it was it still ticked over high when i stopped on my drive.

im gonna get a can of easy start out again later and re tighten the tb bolts just to be 100% sure theres no air leak

post no.3 and label 10 is MAP takeoff. From what ive read you bought an ECU with McKrich chip fitted thus bypassing Immob, so fitting the old ecu breifly will rule out that side of it. Try unhooking the throttle cable and seeing how it reacts. You can also unplug the ICV to see what happens. Doubt TPS as it would prob drive like absolute crap.

yea but the map is taken straight from the mani on mine and was on myold 1242, im convinced its the icv ifits not then im outa ideas

ive now done just shy of 350 miles with it and still it hunts between 1.4k and 2k

cheers for the pic though i used that one to connect it up in the first place, ill replace the icv tomorrow and see if that changes anything, i have run out of easy start but if changing the icv does nothing ill get another can on monday (if i get a day off :( )

Na mine aren't blocked off as I have the carbon canister on one a breather from rocker on the other and the third is what used to be the standard airbox vac pipe, which is blocked off

Does anyone have a picture of how theirs is set up just for refrence?? I've had a look at the diagram in the guides section but am a little confuzzlecated

Cheers

i'll try get a picture of mine at some point today, there is pipes galore there though due to my extra fuel lines and AC. Will get a pic if i can without taking bits off the car. My car doesn't have the charcoal cannister though, but i think the pipe that went to the charcoal cannister is just straight onto the tb - that said my memory is not the best haha

Right I've been out and had a play on my lunch break today and there is definatly no air leaks I've disconnected the icv and there was no change what so ever no rise in idle no more or less hunting, I've disconnected the carbon canister and joined the 2 blanked off bits together, still no change so tonight I'm going to replace the icv and see if that does anything

FIXED!!!! :D after all that worrying it was just the grub screw under the throttle cable spindle, just unscrewed it a little and now she idles at a lovely 800rpm, smooth as you like and yet she still goes like stink :D, happy bunny now, also ordered a novitec strutbrace so hopefully thatll be here for monday or tuesday :D, soon ill get round to getting the wheels painted and the skirts repaired ready to be fitted :D anyone have any smart ideas on how to repair holes in the skirts, i was thinking melting some plastic into the holes then sanding smooth little bit of filler and then paint over so i dont have to worry about filler or lumps of p40 falling out after theyve been painted

How big are the holes ?

Large self tapper size lol 5 down each side so I think plastic welding them will be my preferred option unless there's an easier way lol

Lee

Edit: would filling the holes with tigerseal work and then a thin skim over the top with some filler?? Just a random idea, but it may work
