Special additional feature for when the excess speed warning comes on

......the main lights go off as well to make you slow down

haha, lets just be thankful it isn't a Volkswagen we're driving or that might include a very angry German shouting

ZE SPEED LIMEET IS VON HUNDRED THIRTY KEELOMETERS PER OWUR SLOW EET DOWN JA!?P

Went to a garage (didn't have car with me) and the guy says he could probably fix it for £17.50 and if I want the full tracking it's £88. Worth a go for less than 20 quid.

So that Tayna one that you bought. Is it a straight swap or is there modding to do to get it to fit. Looks like a big battery but worth it in the long run i guess.
It's a perfect fit - even the fuse panel can be plugged in (y)

You don't get the 'charge OK light' (don't think you'll get that with any after-market battery) but instead you can just make out you've got a Varta battery fitted - only for those who like to impress of course ;)

Whats the Charge Ok Light?

I'm guilty of driving around with my engine mgmt light on.
It came on last winter and the revs would sometimes just drop when idling & the car would cut out so I put a bottle of Redline injector cleaner and it's been fine since. I've put it down to cheap supermarket petrol clogging the injectors up (heard from another forum that Fiat's suffer from this more than other cars).
Thing is the light's still on even though I've disconnected the battery but I don't wanna shell out £40 cos the car's running fine at the minute.

Um im no expert only had my stilo a month but i read hear alot.

Theres meant to be some sort of reset turning the engine on and off 3 times doubt that will work.

There is software in the stickys that lets you read the faults and i assume it allows you to reset them, but you need a special cable to plug in go look a the thread it should explain there. I think there about £10 on ebay.

Fiat's are also guilty of displaying warning lights purely because the battery is on its way out. So it could be worth a change?

Everything you need to know about the software and the cable is in the sticky.

I suspect that you may have misunderstood the purpose of the "three clear starts" you've read about.

Three clear starts of the engine will clear a fualt code from the ECU's memory after the fault has been fixed. It does not fix the fault and does not clear a fault that still exists.

I got laser tracking done today on the front wheels my steering wheel is now centred it only cost me £15.

On another problem though my front left brake is making a rubbing sound when i brake. I was told it had new discs and pads this year by the previous owner. If i put my finger in the caliper it feels like theres plenty off pad there. Maybe a stone stuck? I only really drive it at the weekends you think that could make a difference?

Also when i bought it i was told the timing belt was dont about 60k i think theres 73k on it now, but when i asked him if anything would need done in the near future he mentioned something about the tensioners, surely they would have been done with the timing belt? Is there much work in a garage checking them? And how much do you think it would cost?

Yeah I do get a lot of warning messages like, ASR failure/ABS failure on start-up. I can live with them but I'm gonna get one of those cables to try and clear the engine mgmt fault code.

If the faults still there though it will come back prob best to get your battery checked and clean up your earths. If you suspect its your injectors i think theres a guide in the guides section on how to clean them. And gettin the fault reader is a good idea at least you'll know what the fault is, but if your getting random faults most likely the battery.
