Technical idle temp

Hi, Whats the idle temp on a 1.2 8v??

Eh?

It'll depend on how long the car has been idling and whether the cooling fan comes on. So, it could be anything from ambient temperature to top of the scale and steam pouring out of the bonnet.

Ah ok thats for the reply, I thought the car had a target temp when you start it from cold.

The stat opening temperature will be in the high eighties , which you could say is the minimum target temperature at the stat. Depending on the circumstances it can run hotter until the fan tries to cool it.

Well, the fan should kick in at 95c ish, the lambdas have their own heaters (and are not dependent on engine temp although there will be some reliance on exhaust temp) and the ECU will be trying to correlate mixture strengths depending on input from the intake air temp and engine air temp sensors.

But that apart, I'm still struggling to understand the question.
