Hi everyone, another problem with my 53 reg petrol prestigio, my mil light is on and I had it scanned, giving me two codes, po412 and po414 which translate as , secondary air injection system switching valve A circuit malfunction/shorted. Could anyone please tell me where I can find this air valve. Many thanks, Brian.

The Eper parts software for the 2.0L petrol Ulysse shows an air valve and an electrovalve located at the RH side of the cylinder head above the gearbox end of the engine. The electrovalve probably switches a vacuum supply to the air valve which, in turn, probably controls the injection of air into the exhaust manifold. The air valve receives a supply of air through a hose from an air pump. The whole system probably only operates whilst the engine is warming up from cold.

I would recommend checking the operation of the electrovalve/air valve and the condition of the associated vacuum hoses, as a first step.

Many thanks for your reply,I'll check that out over the weekend if the weather holds out. Hopefully it will be something simple. Thanks again.

Thank you for the link, a very interesting read I'll check that out over the weekend also. Sorry for the delay in replying but outlook on my pc decided to update itself removing all my favourites in the process!!

Had a good checkover at the weekend but couldn't find the air valve, these vehicles are not very suitable for working on lf you suffer with arthritis in most joints as I do. It is nowhere to be found under the bonnet,so once I am a bit more mobile I'll get it up on ramps and have a scout around underneath. I'll keep you informed of any progress.
