Alright well i fitted my boot build over the weekend me and the girlfriend and it has turned out amazingly, better then i could have ever expected it to. only thing is the infinty comps and some 13cms in the rear i have amped from the same amp there is a high piched noise coming thru the all of them which gets louder and higher pitched as i accelerate. any ideas what it could be cheers all Danny

cheers tom, it wouldnt be anything to do with where the rca's are run as they are quite close to the 4awg but i heard i think on here that was a stupid myth thats why i wasnt bothered.

alright tom mate i have changed over the earth and it has only got slightly better. but still there it sounds really nice other then this and i need to get it sorted any ideas where to earth i got the 2 amps earth seperatly if thats helps.
cheers Danny

straight from the head unit down the left hand side in to the amps. 2sets of rca's split from the sub out on the headunit and 2 from the line outs on the head for the other amp.

the amp for the subs is earth onto the boot floor, i scrathed away the paint and screwed it straight into there, that 1 is fine. i tried the same on a different spot with the other amp but nowhere seems to work ok.

i clamped my earth to a bolt sticking up under the rear seat. I think it was about M8 and you car get a really good contact.

tried that still that same high pitched noise. its only there when the engine is on if the engine is off there is no noise. i was trying to do it the the seat bolt but that would not come off for love nor money.anywhere else anyone can suggest.

Swap your RCAs over on the amps, see if the whine followes the RCA.

How have you connected the pair of RCAs to the 4ch amp?

its coming from all of the speakers from that amp, the coaxals, and tweeters not so much the drivers from the comps. the rcas are just connected to the same colour,ie red2red white2white. from the line outs on the head.
cheers Tom mate.

What make and model amp?

Swap the RCAs over with the sub amp, don't worry about the HU end, just see if you still get the noise.

The one powering the comps and coaxals is a "caliber rally" 520watt 4 channel. nothing special but i just wanted to get them amped they sound reallly good other then the whining, with the engine off and vol down low they sound awesome even better turned up.il try the rcas, but im in works at the mo so il have to check later, the whining did get less when i changed the earth last time. but still there.
do you recon i should mabye use 4 awg to earth is or something.

Tom what do you reckon of a ground loop isolater. could this do the trick at all.cheers Danny
