Ibm thinkpad problems

Hi my ibm thinkpad t22 will not power up at all when i push to start any ideas?

Long shot but it works for one of my older dell laptops...

unplug charger
take out battery
press power button
put battery back and plug in charger
press power

Usually when a laptop doesn't turn on, its past its sell by date

But seriously, its usually down to the motherboard. An IC or Sufrace mounted diode, resistor or capacitor has failed. Either new motherboard (Usually a straight swap but be advised, its not as easy as people think with laptops or a new laptop.
