OK Gents,

I give in...........I promise to behave in future. Honestly, seeing as you have all been very knowledgeable about Fiats.

Firtunately, mine is trouble free at the moment, but I doubt it will stay that way. Just when you think it is running well, it requires a "dealer specialist tool" (so to speak) or a dealer only part.

Out of interest, my first Fiat was a 1.4s Tipo, which I had for three years and all I had to change was a back box, two front tyres and a couple of other cycle parts in 44k miles. Head gasket and rear wiper motor changed under warranty though.

After that, the Sedicivalvole Tipo was aquired, which was very thirsty, but great fun. Two more 1.4's appeared, one of which was a dog, the other not too bad.

Then arrived my first Bravo - a 1.6 16v, which was a dog too, the electrics were up the spout, almost from day one. I turned Japanses for two years, then reverted to Italy in the form of an Alfa. This graduated into the HGT Bravo and here we are.

Once again, sorry boys - over to you?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: I PROMISE TO BEHAVE IN FUTURE

yeah, why not.
i was only partaking in yesterdays bash for the hell of it. i didnt mean any offence, although i can see why some might be taken LOL :)

if you need fiat only parts try the desira group.
i know some people havent got on well with them but i have.
i bought an abarth kit from them for £680 ish
i know its not your cup of tea but to give you an idea, i did save £250 by not going to my local fiat dealer for this purchase.
any parts you order, you can get your own mechanic to fit, or do it yourself.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: I PROMISE TO BEHAVE IN FUTURE

Thank you gentlmen.

I'll give the Arbarth kit a bit of a swerve, but I'm tempted to get some of those Arbarth badges for the rear ofd the skirts. Oh No! Mods! What am I to do? Mind you, at £10 a shake, they're a bit steep. Still, I have been "obsessed" with Fiats for a long time; ever since my Old Man bought a 1.6 DGT in about 1990.

I'm still glad to report that nothing's wrong with my 155 - apart from it being bright yellow. Still, it could be worse - that "Arboreal Red", now that is a putrid colour. Sorry, all you owners of the said colour. White is infinitely more preferable. Flat Black is better still.....not too fond of ink black, or that Marguertia Orange. I nearly bought one in that colour from Leeds, it had a full grey leather interior too. Grey and Orange.....Hmmm. Not sure. Now, what's that metallic yellow/gold colour? Not too fond of that either. I do like the Enamel Red and the Whipser Grey (silver, to you and I). Heraldic Blue is the best, in my opinion.

Your thoughts on Bravo colours Chaps?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: I PROMISE TO BEHAVE IN FUTURE

my punto is broom yellow. i like the colour when its clean. which, usually lasts no longer than one day after i've cleaned it! i'm looking to get another punto HGT in the next couple of months as mine is 3 1/2 so is about due for replacement.

i'll be getting sprint blue next though. its the best blue i've come across apart from volkwagens

Craig,

I have recently started to use a wax called "Williams F1" (NO LAUGHS PLEASE). It knocks spots off "Autoglym" or "Mer" and it's about £10 per bottle from Halfords. Try it - it keeps the Broom Yellow very bright and teh finish last yonks.
