Technical I need to change the steering wheel belt. Where is it?

Ok..

So if that Red light is working..but never coming on in use

I suspect the electrical side of your 'power assisted steering' is ok

Its ONLY the column that has electrics..the Rack is a standard manual one

So before spending lots of money:

Put it up off the ground

Break the TrackRodEnd connections to front hubs

Swing struts full lock..any resistance ?

Then start engine and twirl the wheel.. any obvious tight patches while running lock to lock..??

Ok we will try it. And if the resistance and slight screeching is from the wheel twirl?

It was the wheel so we changed a round thing under the steering wheel that i forgot the name of. But now the wheel seems to not be quiet steering right so have to learn whats up and go back.
