If you've got the gurgling sound you may well have air in the coolant - don't drive it until you get it sorted as you could end up killing it, especially seeing as though Seis don't have a temp gauge.

Look all over for leaks, crusty deposits etc. - refill and bleed the system.

would another sign of air in the system be a blow back when i take the cap of the coolant bottle

as for leaks, the orginal point to this thread was about a leak, but i have since topped up and the level has not gone down  - the car is still leaking from somewhere though

jamie has told me how to bleed the system, but i cant undo the screw , im scared i might break it if i try to hard :( - i have seen a similer pipe pop out from the drivers side arch, has that got something to do with it

Little screwdriver will loosen the top bleed screw and your fingers the other one or small pliers if your struggling. You ned both off so the the air is totally out of the system.

Hi,
Do you have a bleed for the radiator, its in the gap between the drivers side head lamp and the coolant reservoir(sticks out of a hole in the inner wing), its missing on mine and I get trouble bleeding the rad......will have to get round to replacing it one day...

Thanks

it is coolant that is leaking  - but in a very strange way, yesterday it emptied itself all over the drive way, so i topped it back up and its fine  - it seems to pick and choose its times to leak

its going in on thurs to get seen too along with the clutch :D

do you mean coming out the top, it did that a while ago, but i changed the cap and its been fine ever since, there is no sigh on water coming out top either, cause last time it was all white

you can see the water on the drive, but i thought, if theres a leak it will just come out anyway, i best let the garage look at it cause its confusing the hell out of me

On a Sei without a coolant gauge it could be boiling over.

they do have a light that comes on when they overheat, so i doubt its that.

when it emptied on the drive, was there no obvious sign where it had come from gaz?

i know where its dripping onto, it looks to be just behind the coolant tank and its dripping on the the steering rod (maybe)

i would have a proper look at it but i cant get my car up on the ramps and i cant jack it up high enough to fit myself under where its coming from

would taking the wheel and arch lining out give me a better view, or would the inner wing be in the way

my dad just had the wonderful and wacky idea why i may have a tempramental leak

hes basing his theory on a house central heating system - so dont laugh :p

as you can turn a single house radiators off, but water still gets to the other radiators and heats them up fine, so bypassing the radiator which is turned off.

so hes thinking when my heaters are on it will leak and when they are off it wont

i think hes mad, but its the only explanation that makes some sort off sense at the mo, what do you guys reckon??

EDIT - damn that dont make much sense

Hi,
Check for a split in the header tank, around one of the pipe outlets or the seems, may need the correct heat distortion conditions to show itself but should be noticeable if you give the pipes a good wiggle or shake when the engine is warm..

Thanks

It almost makes sense in an older vehicle where the heater was controlled by a water valve but modern cars have the heater matrix in the circuit at all times, the heat being contolled by an air valve.

Found it on the parts CD:
