I havent had chance to look where yet, but the water level is below min :(

im guessing worst case scenario is the rad, i need the car for tomorrow as im off on an adventure lol, would it be possible??

what else can i look for, i dont really want to take it upto the garage yet

top the water bottle up and then start the engine up to pressurise the system.

if its the rad gone, you'll see it p155ing out from somewhere - mine was shooting straight through the bumper!!!

add egg to water  - i aint baking a cake :p

im guessing it isnt the rad then as i managed to drive 20 miles to my mates house and back again

the adventure is un-important, but i am going to see someone :)

if its the rad you could try the sealant stuff that you put in the water that seals up holes, this could do as a temp measure until you get a chance to sort it?

You check all coolant pipes when the car is running. alos the bleed nipples are on tightly?

HTH

i just been to have a quick lok, its not the rad itself :D

there is water collected on the suspension arm thing - i dont know the correct name

i cant see where its dripping from, cause i cant jack it up on the uni car park

If the Sei's engine bay layout is similar to the Punto's, then if its on the drivers side it could be radiator bottom hose/water pump; if its on the passenger side it could be top hose/thermostat housing. Also check the heater hoses and any bleed screws.

i just opened the water tank and the water is frothy  - like its got fairy liquid in it

Doesn't sound promising... I'll pop out and have a look in the Punto's, thats got a dead head gasket, if its the same then it's looking bad Gaz :(

dont you have a loss of power and mayo type stuff on the oil cap, i thought head gasket uses up water not lleaks it out

True, but the level will still drop. Anyway, there's no froth and all the mayo has vanished  mind the car hasn't been run since it went a week ago, so maybe thats why? No idea why your water's frothy then, if you've got no mayo then your H/G should be fine. I didn't notice any power loss though, it ran perfectly before I parked it up.

Dave, have you any idea where my mayo has gone? Just been to look at the water tank to see if it was frothy n looked in the oil filler while I was there, no mayo any more  does it normally disappear if you leave the car stood for a week?

I have had problems with coolant levels for some time now.

Generally if it has been a leak from a hose it has been obvious as soon as the system becomes pressurised, you can clearly see it dripping out (it was coming out of one of the bleed screws on mine).

If it goes down and your car looks like a smoke machine from the exhaust it is head gasket trouble. Mine used about a small water bottle every time i used it.

Hope you manage to find where its going!

Phil
