Hi all, just noticed this patch of fluid from a leak underneath my Panda. Does anyone know what part this is? I've been having issues with coolant running out far too quickly so could this be related? Many thanks

If it's coolant

Look.around the core plugs under the spark plugs

And under the hoses by the thermostat

However the drip that's about to fall looks like oil

If you catch a drip on some kitchen roll is it brown or red

Thanks just done this, it's brown so looks like it's the oil...

Great

But still bad news as the coolant loss needs addressing asap

Brown could be gearbox or engine oil

I assuming it's a manual gearbox

Put your finger in the inspection hole at the top of the bell housing is it wet on the inside, you might need to move some hoses aside to find it

Look under the selector lever

Check around this part

Corners regularly fail, in my experience back left if standing in front of the engine

Sumps can also get pin holes in them

No doubt someone will be along and suggest a sniff test to identify if it's engine or gearbox, I have a bottle of each here and I can not tell any difference between them

Normally end up cleaning the parts up and watch for the highest point where it first starts to appear
