I got a notice of inteneded prosicution, what is it for though?

hehe, im never one to lie down and die, i will fight it, lol, na, im gonna send this letter off and see what they say, the guy i spoke to at the ticket office said "send a letter explaining and our manager will take a look and decide"

That wont work, they will then try and do you for driving without due care and attention, as a driver you should always be as aware as possible and even more so in New and built up areas etc etc blah blah......

Believe me, I have pushed it in the past, and that was there response!

sorry to say I can't see your letter cutting any ice with the authorities.
Rush hour traffic in the City Centre is so bad you'd be unlikely to be going fast enough so that your braking would be likely to cause someone to rear-end you.
Also, the points been made that the red-light cameras do give a couple of seconds leeway before they snap you, so again I fear you're stuffed.

Still, I admire your never say die attitude, and I can't think your letter could do further harm. I guess there's even a slim chance of it working, but it's a very slim one. Certainly my letter didn't help when I got done for parking in a Loading Zone, but you dont know unless you try, so good luck!

Learn to drive properly.

Concentrate a little more; pose a little less.

Drive with due care and attention.

Approach traffic lights/junctions with more care and attention.

When in an unfamiliar environment, try driving at 26 mph not 33mph. You might just spot the odd traffic light turning to amber.

Keep out of Nottingham between the hours of 07:30 - 08:00 and 17:00 - 18:00.
I do NOT want to be broadsided at traffic lights on my way to/from work!

Don't winge to the authorities. They will have heard it all before. They have to make money somehow. You broke the law.

Get over it.

That excuse will probably not work tbh. The time the amber light is on gives you sufficient time to stop. You should never have to go through a red light as a safety precaution. If you do, you were going too fast.

Secondly even if there are cars in front you won't be let off. If you are stuck after the stop line and it turns red it simply won't flash. To set the camera off you need to pass 2 strips in the road. If you stay still just after the light you won't be flashed. If you continued after the light changed you will.

Good luck appealing but you have no chance.
