HP 610 Printer Problems

Hi There

My mates printer is driving me insane now

Have installed Windows 98 as per their request for them to use Word etc. Their running system is Windows XP.

Their printer is a HP 610, and he seems to think should have more options when it comes to printing ie: double sided etc. As before the upgrades / changes he had more printing options. Do you think that it's due to the upgrade that the choices have been limited?

I have downloaded the latest driver for the printer, but it says "application not supported".

Any help / advice / ideas?

You downgraded from XP to Windows 98 just to use Office? Office should have run on XP

Sorry you lost me at the 98/XP bit. Is it running XP or 98?

As for the printer - Inkjet, Deskjet, Officejet?

Sorry it's now running on XP since which the printer has had more limited capabilities.

It's a deskjet I think?

USB or Parallel?

Is it a 610c, a 610cl or a 612c?

edit: Deskjet drivers are included in XP. No need to download anything.

That's all fine.. The 610 series don't have duplex (print both sides).
