I have a howling noise coming from the Front RT wheel....is that a bearing? brake wear indicator?

Its particularly noticeable in LH turns,

Ideas?

Hi, its worth raising the wheel off the ground and turning it by hand. If its the wheel bearing you may feel it grinding and possibly hear the noise from where it is coming from.

Sounds like wheel bearing to me. The wheel that makes a noise is usually the one under load in corners i.e. r/h wheel in left corners l/h wheel in right corners. Normally starts as humming or growling noise.

The only thing that makes me pause is that a knackered wheel bearing doesn't appear from nowhere - just as Davefridge says - so if it's come on all of a sudden, look to see if there's something obvious broken or interfering with the affected wheel. I once had a noise that I thought was a knackered wheel bearing, but it turned out to be a little stone, trapped between the brake disc and the caliper!
