How to wire pre-outs standard HU

Hi

Having a bit of trouble here, have a Sub + Amp sat in my boot and want to wire it to the standard head-unit.
I would like to use a converter to tap into the speaker feed and output as RCA, I know there is a guide on here but that it aimed towards if you already have the factory sub - which I don't. Could somebody please explain where about's they tapped into the speaker feed and possible provide a picture of how its wired, what clips used ect?

Any had any experience with one of these? Not sure about losing the rear speakers though

Ahhh anyone able to help? Bought the adapter as suggested by Col-blue and still no luck, can somebody who has done it assist please?

No output seems to be coming from the pre-outs, wired up to the sub and nothing, used a volt/amp meter on the pre-outs on the most sensitive setting and nothing is coming out :s

Thats odd. The head unit is actually outputting to those speakers without the adaptor connected?
I would try and tap into something like this
