How to run your car on chip oil

My instructor ran his car on veg oil or some kind of other oil sold at a farmhouse near him. When i was paying so much for lessons he had the cheek to run it on that stuff . It robbed performance, and smelt very bad as well.

It robbed performance
most people report an increase in reponsiveness, RR's so no change in torque or power.

if i had a diesel i'd run it on 50:50 rapeseed and diesel, then you dont need to worry about preheating even in winter, just bang it in the tank and away you go. you can get pure rape seed oil delivered in bulk for cheap.

i saw a guy filling his car up in morrisons car park the other day his trolley was just full of veg oil or similar. my gf couldn't believe her eyes lol.

i buy biodiesel from down the road, works fine 82p litre and i cant tell the difference when driving, just takes a bit more to start it in the morning but it always fires up.

Just think what it is doing to your engine in the long run. If car makers designed cars to run on old oil, they would sell not only Diesel/Petrol/Hybrid models, but also 'oil' models.

Think how many of your engine parts it could be clogging up. After some of the stories round our end, i even touch the stuff.

Yeah, its when you start getting to more modern engines that it starts to become 'non better' for your engines so to speak.

just got to go and find some transformers on youtube now to keep my cousins 3 year old happy - i luv babysitting

AFAIK general opinion is - if you have Bosch pump, go ahead. If it is Lucas, stay away from it.
The reason seems to be the material used for gaskets. Veg oil contains acids, which eat Lucas gaskets, but are harmless to Bosch ones.
I dunno, I am using petrol, planning LPG/CNG.
