after having the electric window panel replaced (the switches on the centre block) each electric windows on my punto MK2 works in a different way. One you need to push AND hold the switch to open/close the window, while the other one you just need to push the switch for an instant and the window will go till it is fully open or closed even if you let go of the switch (hope this makes sense!)...is there a way to reset so they both work the same way?

thank you!

...there is a 'one touch up or down'...as one of my electric windows works that way...as opposite to the other one wich is in 'hold' mode...hence my reason to start this thread...

There's no "one-touch" on my 2002 Sporting - just "press and hold" for both windows.

That said, I have a vague recollection that the Punto Sporting that I bought new in 2000 did have a "one-touch" window on the driver's side and a "press-and-hold" for the passenger.

It was 14 years ago, so it's possible that I'm muddling it up with some other car that I've owned (maybe a 2005 MINI Cooper S....?).

Hi,

Some models do have one touch DS windows. Some HGT's and I had them in my JTD ELX. Its only on the drivers side though.

To reset, with the ignition on... press and hold the down button until the window reaches the bottom. Keep it pressed for a few seconds longer.
Then press and hold the up button until it reaches the top. Then again keep it pressed for a few extra seconds.

The one touch system works slightly different to the standard system. If you press the down button, the window will start going down and wont stop until either

A: it reaches the bottom
B: you press the down button again.

So say for example you want the window half way down. Press the down button, when it gets half way, press the down button again and it will stop.

The same applies in revers. So press the up button once to start the window going up, and then again to stop it.

Hope that helps,
Alan
