Hi,

I want to remove my manufacturers car stereo in the bravo this weekend. Ive seen some instructions on bravo-guide.co.uk on how to do it, but the tool looks weird!

has anyone been able to remove the unit with anything household? like a thin knife etc

Thanks

John

ha ha, that wierd tool is a feeler gauge, a .0025" one to be precise! Anything thin, flat and sturdy should do it so a kitchen knife is fine as long as its thin.

Fiat will only supply the tools to dealers else little oiks could buy them and steal bravo radios. Personally i'd be glad, they would take the excuse of a sound system without damaging the dash. Although who would buy it i don't know. Still, saying that the highly intelligent car thieves took the blaupunkt CD headunit i put in my girlfriends car without the removable facia. We still have it. That has to show how intelligent they are!

You should just do what i did and rip the bugger out with anything that comes to hand. I had to brake mine to get it out but the standard radio is so bad that it was actually fun getting rid of it. I knew that i would never be using it again anyway. If you buy a good stereo and then go to sell your car just get a crap one at about £30 to fill the gap. Remember to get a fasica adaptor.
