Hi,

AS promised I said I would post a pic of my neons that come on with the lights on:

Myneons.jpg

What I did:

1) Unscrew the ashtray with allen keys the correct size

2) Remove the ash tray from its hole

3) Detach the wires from the ciggarette lighter, its only cliped in

4) on the plug end of the wires, remove the brown little clips that hold them tight in.

5) We only need to worry about two wires: Black (Earth) and Yellow/Black (lighting feed)

6) To remove these from the holder, ease the white clip that pushes against a notch in the metal away and they will slide out

7) Connect the positive connection on the neon end to the lighing feed wire (yellow/black) and the negative wire to the ground wire (black)

8) then just put the clips back in the holder, clip the wires to the ciggarette lighter and put the ash tray back

9) Wait till night and admire

Hope it helped

Hooked up to interior lights?

Hi, this is my first post on here so hi everyone!
How hard is it to hook neons up to the interior lights so they come on when the doors are opened rather than when the lights are on?

Cheers,

Alex

Re: Hooked up to interior lights?

Hi

Thanks for all the comments

It took me a little over an hour to do the neons so it wasn't that hard. The hardest part was unscrewing the ashtray and attaching the neons.

***To Attach***

I found that the blasted neons wouldn't stick with superglue so I attached the one under the driver
side with a cable tie around a metal strut, and the passenger one could be stuck with superglue on
the underneath of the glove box, but i screwed mine in.

Glad you liked it all

Re: Re: Hooked up to interior lights?

did u find they wernt as bright having 2 on the same connection? im so impressed with yours and mine im gonna go and buy some more lol.

Re: Re: Re: Hooked up to interior lights?

hi,

I would get some more, but i can't afford it at the mo. They cost me like £40, I think I got a little ripped off!

But hey, they look good so Im not too worried - something to think about for the future.
They looked the same brightness matty before i wired them to the same connection, dunno you
might have a wire loose or weak or something.

If I get any more neons it gonna be from varad.com - they are bloody amazing! and fairly reasonable
I like the look of the 20ft of colour changing neon wire.

I sent an email to nige to beg him to put it on the fix-a-bravo guide, so time will tell!

Thanks again

John
