Re: how to fit induction kit??

I've got a similiar one from K&N. RD6020 I think. There is actually plenty of room. I made a fake filter of a milk carton to measure the length before the thing on top of the engine (the damn word I can't remember... :D) that closes.

Don't think you need any adapters. But you will propably need an oil breather filter as well, if it doesn'n have an option for this. Else your camshaft will go to hell, as it sometimes will suck air (and dust) into the rocker cover.

Re: how to fit induction kit??

steve i would imagine its the i.e engine, just stick it on top of the throttle body thingy

i would imagine a bob is needed to fit it to the throttle body though and some hosing to direct it away from the engine

Re: how to fit induction kit??

should have a jubilee clip, take off all the crap on top and put it on screw the screw ****

Re: how to fit induction kit??

What is the fu*kin point of trying 2 get more performance outta a 1 litre engine? I dont see the point to put it bluntly. Its still gona be slow as f*ck and an air filter wont make it go any quicker. If you want better performance make the car lighter or stick an uno turbo engine in there instead :D

fit induction kit??

Frosty,

Not all of us are lucky enough to be able to afford to run an Uno Turbo.

Take me for example – to cover the insurance increase, I’d have to work full time. I’m not enslaving myself for a couple of extra hours every day just for a nicer Uno – so those of us Lucky enough to be able to run a 1.0 Uno tweak as we wish (in peace)… Maybe we already stripped as many pounds off our beloved 999 FIRE Unos and need a little extra.

– You telling me your car is standard? (Personally) I don’t see the point of tweaking an U.T.. They are fast enough as standard for road use? For Racing - Yer go for it.

Re: how to fit induction kit??

Lol Gaz ur funny mate! Sorry people i didnt mean 2 offend anyone. I guess i was a little pissed off when i wrote that (woman & car trouble) lol but anyway i do have a point though, what good is the sound without the performance? Surely someone must agree. Dont get me wrong i'm not knocking anybody who wants to mod their 1 litre as i myself had a 1 litre at one stage which i modified from the exterior. Its just that i see all these performance air filters as gimmicks really cos half of the time they just charge absolutely silly prices and quote completely bogus performance increase figures. Am i not right in saying so? Thats my opinion anyway, agree or disagree thats fine by me. lol Now its time for some deep breaths....

Re: how to fit induction kit??

i have a 1litre, i dont see the point in tunig the engine

a) cz its so small and wont really be any gain from tuning

b) INSURANCE too much trouble when it comes to this issue (probly more important too  ,should be a) lol)

would rather spend my money making it look a little better, inside and outside. but at the end of the day:
"each to their own"

Re: how to fit induction kit??

OK guys. I've done this myself. I've got a 1.1 ieS. A custom induction kit from K&N is bolted straight on the SPi, with an extra air intake in front. One thing is more sound, a little angrier engine. But this is not a function, more a bonus. I did a trip last summer of 1070 km. And I can assure the engine gives a little more. NOT on low speeds or acceleration from red lights. But this induction is air / speed driven, and will force an extra amount of cold dense air straight into the intake and give a more effecient mixture of air and fuel to be ignited. This leads to a better torque at high speeds. Even on a little engine. This is a function.I would never switch back to the air filter box again.

1.0 Ie Sx?

That’s the spirit frosty M8.

I see where you’re coming from on the looks. I’m running a completely standard engine at the moment (1.0IE Start – 93) – but thinking about induction but don’t want the noise...

I just slotted in some turbo seats last night and WOW – what an improvement!

Ill soon be fitting: - fog lamps + front and rear bumpers, clear front corner indicators, smooth boot, steering wheel, parcel shelf, rear opening windows central locking, S-type hub caps, engine mountains and probably new suspension and tyres.

Now did they ever make a Mk2 - 3 door 1.0 IS SX? Ill soon have one apart from alloys, rev counter map light and electric windows. – Have I missed owt else like Aircon?

Are there any engine mods to make it run cleaner or quieter?

Regards to all
