Hi @ FF,
Could anyone on the forum inform me as to how many different sensors/switches (map/oil pressure/coolant temp etc)I have in and around my Stilo engine bay that can be cleaned/changed/replaced to keep my pride & joy in tip top condition ? My Stilo model is a 2004 1.6 Active Sport with 33k.
Is there a diagram of there positions in and around the engine compartment or elsewhere ? Thank you.

The old saying is if it aint broke don't fix it.

If the cars running right, passes the emissions, is
economic to run leave it alone. The best thing you can do
is ensure you have a good battery, the battery leads and
earths are not corroded, and the throttle body is kept
clean. Oil and filters are regularly changed more often than
the recommended milage (every year) if your milage is low.

If it's a 16v get your cam belt changed even as it's vital
better done by milage or x amount of years - check!!

Any other problems the car will let you know soon enough.

Sometimes removing a sensor that is giving no
problems can cause more trouble than you want.

If the original poster needs to ask where the sensors
are then he may do more damage to his car than just leaving
it alone. There is no Haynes manual for the stilo the electronic
version states check this that and the other with examiner
plus if anything goes out of perameters the car screams
warning bleeps and advises you there is a problem.
Most sensor problems are caused by a duff battery
unless the sensor is duff.

Cheers John,
I will take your advice onboard. I have done all the neccassary things on my recently bought Stilo. . . oil & filter change, changed plugs (NGK),air filter, cabin filter and changed cambelt & tensioners. My battery appears new but I have give it an overnight trickle charge off the car to be on the safe side. Ive only got 34k on the clock so I should be ok for a while. The only message I have showing is "service due" when I switch on but I can live with that as obviously I know different. Any easy way to remove it ? Thanks again for your posts - much appreciated. Thanks John,
I have just downloaded the free version of FES (will get the registered version also) with no problems. Do I need to get both of these leads to get me going on my 1.6 16v Stilo. . . 1. Elm 327 & 2. VAGCom obd2 (£25.00 on ebay) or will just one of them do ? Thanks

Have a look at the fes site you need both to do all modules
but also some modules need adapted leads to access them
Gendan do a complete kit and a registered copy of fes for £115
see their web site.

Dearer but no messing with a soldering iron and Guaranteed
to work Elm fitted with genuine Elm chip.

Cheers John,
Nice one ! I will treat myself to that one I think instead of buying bits and bobs. I may pay the extra £15 and get the Plus package with the usb dongle, extended usb cable and carry case - nice package. Thanks again for your input - very much appreciated. All the best. alsimmo
