how easy is a single wiper conversion?

iv been thinking of a single wiper conversion. they dont make kits for them but i as thinking of maybe taking my rear wiper motor and fitting it in the front and just put a bigger wiper on so it covers all the screen.

anyone ever done or thought about it?

has been talked about a few times, in theory it would be possible, i think, The biggest problem is mounting the motor in the centre.

I could be done with the existing motor. You would need to take measurements of the linkages required to attach the wiper in the centre and to ensure it does a full 180 degree sweep. That is the easy bit.

You would need a new plastic moulding under the windscreen to accomodate the new location of the centre wiper.

i wouldn;t bother with it to be honest.
sad to say i had a corsa with the conversion done. was the worst thing i have ever experianced in the rain.

Single front wipers only work well on cars originaly designed to have them, (original Panda, Citroen CX, M-B 190, e.t.c.)
As Craig said, not worth the bother converting anyway, especialy as it's hardly cutting-edge auto fashion anymore.
