Technical How do I drain the Fuel tank from the Engine?

I am looking to drain my MK2 punto through the main engine. I do not want to damage the engine or fuel tank however due to selling it off to someone who is willing to repair it. It has a whole tank of fuel though. Does anyone know where the fuel pump is located under the bonnet?

do the hosepipe trick, wont taste nice but will get the job done.

oh... didnt know that... not too sure then. dont make a habit of draining petrol..... except when i put my foot down.

About to say - it has wire mesh on there to stop a pipe sucking it up

Probably best way to get the Fuel out is to drop the tank out - and get it Drained that way

Could disconnect the fuel pipe connector at the engine end, run a pipe to some fuel cans and use the fuel pump. If it times out run a wire direct from the battery to the pump.

Does the pump look for pressure for it switch off?

Could yea - just run it off the cig lighter if the current isn't too high

It runs until the pressure comes up. I dont know if it understands a blown hose and shuts off so might need a restrictor in the pipe.

Might be easier to drop tank down
and Remove the Main Fuel Hose and Pour it out

Your going to need several Jerry cans tho

dont put petrol in anything but plastic or Metal Jerry Cans
