You wanna borrow my glasses? :)

It says, on line 2 of the description:
"USB SOCKET TO CONNECT TO PERSONAL MP3 PLAYER"

The cable you attach the Zen to your computer has what on one end? A USB plug!

It doesn't play the files through the ipod/whatever, it reads them via the USB interface and plays them itself.

well i attach the zen via usb and all it does is act like its connected ready for data transfer not ready to play tunes?? :(

So what do you have, iPod or Creative ZEN ??

zen, all the same arnt they lol, ipod is easier to say and i say it by accident

You need a 2male RCA to Phono Jack Lead.

The RCA needs to plug into the Aux In on the back of the Stereo unit and the phono to the ipod(zen) device.

Not sure if that stereo has the Aux input but this is how I conect my mp3 player to my stereo. Mines not as good as zen or ipod but does serve its purpose.

How about this?

Try this link:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FM-SIGNAL-Transmitter-for-MP3-CD-Ipod-Digital-Audio_W0QQitemZ280049423006QQihZ018QQcategoryZ72404QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Sorry the link is so long!

All you do with this gizmo is connect it to your mp3 player with the supplied cable and switch it on.

Next, tune the FM band on your car radio to a non-transmitting frequency. You will probably be provided with eligible frequencies in the instructions. The gizmo transmits the music from your MP3 player through the cars audio system. Bob's your auntie!

well its all actuall for my mum, she has one of them but it doesnt fit cos it gets in the way of her gear knob so im getting her a new head unit, thinking of the one i have on that ebay link or maybe a mutant one i've seen that says its ipod compatible

oh, wait just looked at it, that one doesnt go into the cig lighter does it! i like it

Anywhere

No it does'nt go into the lighter. It's completely independent. You can play it through any FM transmitter, your home stereo, your computer or even your kitchen radio! It works by tranmitting the the signal from your MP3 wirelessly. So you can leave it on your parcel shelf if you want. I just bought one for my son and he loves it!

Afterthought!

Seb, just as an afterthought, you can see an example of these at PC World. Just ask the guy for the gizmo that plays MP3s through your car stereo. They cost £29.99. However, at the moment they are illegal in the UK and likely to be made legal some time next year. Something to do with the BBC no doubt! They are legal all over the rest of the EU. Good luck.

Just a thought - did the HU not come with instructions?

Surely there is an interface in the HU capable of reading the MP3 files on you Zen.

BTW, iPod has two sylabls, Zen has one.
Why is iPod easier to say than Zen? :)

Which Zen? I have a Sleek. Bril.

my mum has a micro/mini (watever its called) zen, and my lil bro has one of those mini tiny ones

i will get one of those cables, cheers
