Drive home from the folks was interesting.

Hilton Street is closed due to fallen trees. As a result folk at the split the winds roundabout are just driving in a free for all. Fun times.

Add to that getting blown away from the civic when I parked up - amusing to watch, Im sure, with two full bags of shopping and two chairs in tow.

Hurricaine Bawbag can **** off sharpish!

That's normal for any Aberdeen roundabout regardless of obstruction ;) :laugh:

We had snow for two years, I guess this winter we've got gales and hurricanes instead. I'm not actually sure which I prefer :(
 
Was nervous about my car during the past few days given I park it round a few corners away from my flat (living on a main road). Went round the corner today and about 6 or 7 wheelie bins were strewn all over the hill I park it on thankfully not one had hit it as I'd parked at the top...phew.

Main reason for worry was due to about 3 years back under similar conditions and at a similar time of year, this happened...

Ouch!

The only thing that stopped my wheelie bin from hitting the GP was the fence I had installed across the driveway a couple of years back. Wasn't sure if I was doing the right thing at the time but have now decided it was £75 well spent.

Yeah. Funny thing is the bins were strewn all down the street earlier and no one was bothering to clear them up so I just lay them flat next to the flat walls so they wouldn't move. Moaning a bit, but beggars belief how lazy some people can be when considering other people.

Got no idea what hit RGZ that year though I think it could've been a near by wooden post or a drain pipe that'd fallen off one of the flats. Either way wasn't the greatest way to bring in that new year :/

The trick is to live in a street full of retired people. Sure they'll monitor almost everything you do but they'll also put your bin in for you if you're not there and track you down at work when your guttering falls down and they think you should worry about it....

On second thoughts maybe wheelie bins all over the street in high winds ain't so bad after all :laugh:

:laugh: the street I park in is most definitely not filled with people like that. In fact, the residents are probably worse than those in my actual street. It's the nearest free place I can park though that's not on a main road, something I wish I could rectify but probably not till I move :/

Move to a semi-rural area and then parking is free ;) Although you have to travel for a more enlightened social life :laugh:
 
Right so Bawbag's back for the 3rd time.....
Now I have a Dilema here, I'm currentlly at My Sister's flat in Edinburgh, it's blowin a gale (literally) & I need to get back home to Symington.

This is the current weather for where I am in Edinburgh:

it says for fife that the wind has to die down at 12 thats when the weather warning ends give it a couple of hours see how things are then
 
Hold off until the winds have died down slightly in the evening and then travel. They'll still be a bit wild at 9pm but you should be ok if you take your time. You're not working until 11.30 am so it won't matter how late you get back - btw, google estimates your travel time as 1.5 hours so even allowing for Andi time you should be home by midnight ;) :laugh:
 
btw, thanks Andi for the reminder about the bad weather today as it was all quiet up here this morning - blue sky, sunshine, no wind etc. Decided to head out for a run rather than leave it until the afternoon and boy am I glad I did. Wind got up within a mile of leaving the house but I persevered. Completed just over 3.5 miles and within 10 minutes of getting back the torrential rain started :(

Think the rest of today is going to be a sofa day :)

Well it's died down a bit here, so am going to attempt to get home.
Kingston Bridge is closed Westbound, so I have another route planned from here:
A90, M9, Bit of the M8, then cut off for EK A725, then from EK it's a doddle.

Well as I just said I know other routes.
Normally from my Sister's flat it is only 1.5hrs, using the M8.
I'm going to use the M90, M9, Bit of the M8 then A725, M77, A77 then home, so few hours...
