Just returned from a fun journey on the country roads dodging fallen branches and other debris - unfortunately I'm on Auntie duty tonight so I'm only home briefly :(

It may be a bit nasty up here but it's nowhere near as bad as you southerners are coping with. Hope you're all keeping safe and none of you are affected by the power cuts. Oh and 165 mph wind doesn't bear thinking about

btw, I was v. tempted to make the title wet n' wild but thought it might get a few of you over-excited ;)

unconfirmed reports of a couple of gusts measured hitting 104mph near me, lots of road closures due to unsafe buildings, downed trees, alot of the area is without power

reminds me of earlier this year when i was in the garage working on the cinq and the roof blew off  so i ran out the garage and missed getting smashed in the head by a roof panel that weighed about 20kg only by about 2mm, skiffed my head and smashed into the Honda :(

was on the news there that the average gust force in Dundee is well over 90mph, it's hit a high of 106mph

so still not as fast as the cinq when it had an engine

Have to say it's not been that bad in Paisley but then I've not bothered leaving the flat today yet  Just hoping I don't go round the corner to my car and find there's 20 wheelie bins and as many trees piled on top of it

can i put the official STV title in?

Hurricane Bawbag :D

it's utterly mental here, the whole house is shaking

Damnit, that's a way better title. Change it if you want :D

Bunch of poofs. im working multidrop till midnight tonight.

Hope you don't want sympathy as you're not getting any. I'm now having to do the Auntie thing over night and the kids are already doing my head in. If I don't log on sometime tomorrow I'm either on the run or still digging the hole for the bodies and I won't care what the weather is like by then :D

Were you dodging flying Christmas lights in Union Street?

See pic 12

P
ic 13 is pretty spectacular too

Saw that a short while ago, also the roof on the Cineworld in Glasgow centre's apparently collapsed with debris being flung all over the surrounding streets. About to pop out and check the Stilo's not been relocated into someone's garden...

If we don't hear back from you tonight I'll assume you're either filing a missing Stilo report or hiding from an irate gardener

I'm already dreading going home tomorrow morning. I fully expect to no longer have a shed and for my already shaky washing poles to have been ripped out too. I'm hoping the house insurance covers garden stuff...

Fook me I know the exact location of pic 13....
Got a lift down to work as my mum didn't want me driving.
Seen a 7.5ton Mercedes Rigid on its side in the layby just before the Sandyford Toll roundabout.
In attendence were: 1 Police car from Troon, 2 Highways Vehicles & a Military JCB (I kid you not)
Saw Ayr's Arial Platfrom (Fire Engine) heading up the A77 towards Kilmarnock when we were heading down to Ayr.
And aslo spoke to a Firefighter when he came into work to buy food for the crews at the Fire Station, he said they'd been very busy & when he came in, they had just returned from a call out, made his day though, saw him queing up at another checkout, so took him over to my till & opend up just for him.

I survived and the Stilo's still intact thankfully :)

Saw this on Facebook, also doing the rounds on Twitter...it's from earlier today in Glasgow and thankfully didn't touch down...

Ah well...

Bloody hell Bawbag appears to have invited the entire family to Scotland for the winter - you'd think someone would have mentioned how crap the weather gets here...

oh wait

Just had to thwart the wheelie bin's escape attempt and have now weighted it down with a couple of slabs left over from sorting out the garden. That'll hopefully keep it in place overnight
