help!! I've been using cheemy brothers cougar for the last 5 days or so, as he is in New Zealand.just to make sure the battery doesn't get flat. got back into my bravo this afternoon, and found it sluggish as hell. this happened over Christmas, because i didn't use for about 4-5 days. ran it for 2 days, back to normal. whilst driving in 4th or 5th on low revs, what sounds like a backfire comes from underneath. could it be a sticky inlet/outlet valve???? can't be anything serious as it clears it self after a few miles.cheers

its becuase ur used to speed of his cougar that ir car seems slow lol

Lol, but you're probably not very far from the truth there Rascal. Its not an unknown phenomenon...

it's a 1.6 hlx T99. it's done 80k.service due, but it's only done 4k since last one.only do about 6k a year.got in it this morning, fine!!the bravo is quicker than the cougar, for your info.even though mine has only 100 bhp, and the cougar has (according to the cougar sites)137bhp.mine is more responsive, and quicker pick up. dont get me wrong, the cougar is a nice car to drive. you feel the power of a 2litre engine when you are doing about 80-90mph. no strain at all.but off the mark, my bravo would **** all over it.maybe the 2.5 v6 cougar would be quicker, considering the size of the car. my brother calls it the Titanic!

the 2.5 v6 is actually slower take off than a zetec. my dad has the 2 liter zetec and it is tuned loads and it flys. the slow take off changed when he had the LSD put in there, most work had been done by puma speed in leeds if you have heard of it?
