does anyone know if liverpool victoria/frizzel charge anything for adding alloys?
cheers Alex

How long's a piece of string? :D Best bet would be to ask direct - it may be dependent on your age, location etc, the value of the alloys, etc. if they add to the premium.

HTH

Just been on the phone to Tesco, they reckon that an extra 237 quid is fair for alloys worth less than £250. I'm absolutely seething.

46 quid extra (on top of 800ish) for alloys on the Marea - well cheaper than buying a new tyre to replace the one with the puncture so I guess its not bad.

23 with 2 yr NCB, 2 year old no fault accident.

Apart from thats with Elephant so can't see why others get a 'long as its not increasing the engine power you just get standard in the event of a claim'

No wonder people are p'off with insurance. They just pluck numbers out the air. Some have to pay more for mods, some don't. Why can't they level the playing fields a bit!

Now when i recently renewed insurance with Zurik [re fiasco that they didnttake the money etc]the lady dealing with renewal said[Quote- have you anything fitted to the car that is not genuine fiat eg alloy wheels] so does that mean that if you fitted fiat alloys you dont have to disclose  confused so am I .

No they don't - this has been covered in this forum before. As with most things to do with insurance, there are a number of variables that determine the increase in premium - age, driving experience, location, overnight storage, nature of mods, past driving history, etc etc.
You can get policies where you can mod and it not affect the premium.

£17.22 but they later vito'd even that.

I have put 14" GT alloys on, but I didn't say that, I declared to them over the phone (And sigend a bit of paper that came thru the post to same effect) that I have fitted OEM 14" fiat alloys, and argued that if my car was a few months newer fiat would have seen it out of the factory with 14" steelies anyway. SHe wanted to charge me £17.22 for processing or something, but later forgot about it (I hope, looking thru insurance letters to make sure).

This is with churchill FC 1Y NCB I am 19

Quinn-Direct.co.uk - a whopping £0 on top of my premium!

They don't see it as a performance mod, so therefore it doesn't matter. My friend (also on quinn) had a fully kitted Corsa, alloys, custom interior etc...

they also quoted him an extra £0 on top of his premium.

paying £978 TPFT on a 1.1 Punto. 18 (at the time, 19 now) with 0 NCB.

quinn are fantastic, i got my online quote for the uno in few months time and it was going to be £770 (18, 1yr NCB touch wood) mainly because i was ment to be getting my hormann kit but now i'm getting a new car going with quinn on 2.0L 20v for £1131 i'm over the moon :D and i can add the alloys etc at no extra cost

Yeah, Quinn are fantastic. As long as you keep the engine standard, they don't care :D

Edit - when i come to renew my insurance with quinn, i'll be paying £490 on my 1.1, or £700 on a Punto GT, no other companies can even touch that.
