Technical High beams?

Hi forum. I cant seem to get the high beams working on my 69. Big stalk on steering column is all the way down(pos3)…..shouldn’t this be high beam position?
I also have a switch to the left of the light switch?……I have never known what it is for……..lemme’ know….

The switch to the left is the speedo backlight. It's hard to tell when its on at night. In the day time, there's nothing to see. The next switch along are the lights. The stalk on the steering column switches between side lights, dipped beam and main beam, then the dash switch is on.

Ok..thanks. Great info. It seems my high beams aren’t working…stalk all the way down…pos3. Ideas?
I have checked the bulbs and cleaned the connectors.
Does anyone have a picture of the wiring diagram for a 69?
