I have had hids for over a year and a half with poly headlights. dont know why but the passenger side is less lighter then the drivers side. also i have 8000k so its blue ish. when i switch my headlights on.. on the passenger side the blue is there when its cold but when it heats up it goes pure white where as the drivers side one shows its 8000k light. could it be that the passenger side bulb is going and needs replacing ? or will i need to replace the whole kit? cheers

Hi, it's halilson, I can't log in for some reason and network54 doesn't recognise my email!!
Anyway, best way to check your HID's is to unplug the bulbs and plug them into the opposite ballasts (i.e. plug the left bulb into the right hand ballast and the right bulb into the left hand ballast), if the same bulb is still faulty then it's the bulb, if the other bulb is now wrong then its the ballast that needs changing. More than likely it is the bulb.

8000k is waaay bright mate no need for it!

ill be getting some 35w 5000k ones with my poly's as they look and work a treat! And i have been advised by a mate who has the same!

(i had a rant about hid's on fb as they do my head in as they are blinding when not fitted to a correct light)

polys are the right lights mate....

also the higher the hid the bluer/purple they are so 5000k are BRIGHTER than 8000k so your the one with the 'brighter' lights giving out more lumons. the 8k are just bluer and you will actually see less than with 5k.

oem hid's are 4300k and are yellow/white.
6k are perfect white.
8k blue
10k purple ect ect.

swap bulbs with balasts and i think you will find you just need a new bulb. easy buy on ebay for £6

yer exactly they may be brighter but they will give off a sharp clearer light and they wont be blured.Ive always wanted a purple tint but decided against it

there is no such thing as sharp or blured light.

its just tinted blue, and dimmer you can still see more than with normal halogen bulbs so there not dangerous aslong as aligned propperly.

ive got some 6k waiting to go in as i dont like the yellow tint to 4.3k

Its Keval Cant login to boo? but yea thanks advise on the lights ill check them out ! cheers

Kelvin (****K) is a measure of colour, not brightness.

The light on the right is a standard domestic bulb at 2300K.
The light on the left is classed as Daylight White at 6500K.

Forgot to say, both bulbs are 25 watt energy saving bulbs.
