It seems a sensor shorting to earth is the most likely cause and some have mentioned the DPF differential pressure sensor.
I know speaking to a retired Fiat MH mechanic that one of their most common problems was the DPF sensor.
No guarantee but may be worth checking.:)

Hi ordered the new sensor from Amazon on Sunday night got it Tuesday midday £34.71 total including delivery
Was quoted £110.00 from Dingbro motor factors excluding vat also trade only so would have to get a garage to sell it to me.
Anyway got it and fitted in I/2 hour working a treat .
Just for a reference for anyone else Before fitting I tested it against the old one
Old on read pin 1-2 12.8 ohms 3-4 7.9 ohms

New one read 1-2. 1.7 ohms. 3-4. 1.6 ohms
Thank you so much for taking the time to give me the important information can now get away for a break cheers from Aberdeen
