I have just discovered and fell in love with the 500! Luckily have managed to persuade my husband it is a viable option for a second car - over his more practcal side wanting a Peugeot 207. Our budget means that we are looking at a nearly new/demo in the sport - I really would love a Lounge but the glass roof is sadly not practical with husband's headroom. Any feedback on this model - we would go for the 1.2. Also, I love the chrome kit which you don't get on the sport - do you know if this can be ordered separately an added to an existing car? We have found a 58 plate sport on the web in cha cha cha azure - nice colour?

many thanks guys!

Chrome can be added but you won't get all the parts. I forget which parts are not included though I'm afraid.

Hi KJ

You can retro fit most of the chrome (front/rear bumpers and mirror caps) but you won't have the chrome section that runs beneath the windows down the side of the car.

I went for the Sport for exactly the same reason, headroom. My hair kept brushing on the headlining in the lounge but get far better clearence in the Sport.

Mine's also the 1.2 and has been great. It's a year old next month and it still makes me smile :D when I drive it!

You also get the part leather seats in the Sport that you don't in the lounge as well as front fog lights.

It's swings and roundabouts as for which model to get (just depends on your wish list) but you won't be disappointed whichever you get!

Best of luck!

Hi Matt

Thanks for your reply. Very excited as we have agreed a deal today on the 1.2 Sport demonstrator. It has only done 400 miles and they have taken it off the road until we can have it in 1-2 weeks - as a pre-reg, FIAT apparantly have to keep it for a little longer. Will be hell waiting! Regarding the chrome kit, I guess this needs to be ordered and fitted through the dealer? My husband is very practical so probably could do it himself if it's possible to get the parts direct.
Your 500 looks fab - really like the colour. One of the drawbacks of the demo is not being able spec the colour but the reduction in price makes up for it - I have already exceeded my budget!

Best regards,

KJ

You can get all of the chrome bits.

They might not be listed as an accessory, but they are available to order as replacement parts (everything is, otherwise what would happen if a part was damaged?)

Your dealership will b able to get you prices on having them fitted.

Help please.. I have my 500 1.2 8V Lounge with some extras since 2 weeks. I wonder whether the outern mirrors can be heated in rainy weather. I supposed that yes but I did not find anything in the manual regarding this and it is not working with the rear heating system.

Dude, you need to start starting your own threads:D

To the o.p. - a bit late now but I'm 5'11" and there is still a good 3 or 4 inches above my head on the Lounge and the seat isn't even at it's lowest setting.

Congrats on your new purchase all the same:)
