Does anyone know how to take the engine head off a fiat punto mk2 sporting 1.2 16v..... car over head spark plug boots melted on to the spark plugs managed to get two free but the other two wont move thanks in advance .

given your current situation, i suspect the question you really need to ask is how to remove the engine and fit another one, especially if its overheated to that extent

LOL i dont wana think along them lines just yet the engine still turns turns over fine how ever when i took the spark plug out there was some shredded metal on one off them....

if engine has overheated to that extent,i think its safe to say that engine is toast
time to buy the haynes and new lump!

Why did it overheat?

Coolant Loss / flow = HG popped may survive with a new HG rebuild

Oil loss / flow = Engine scrap - shaving i'd expect to find as well

The engine will be beyond economic repair. It may turn over OK, but the compression will be dreadful. That shredded metal probably came from a piston.

Factory manual or Google. Maybe even the V5.

Try 188A5.000 . There should be a rectangular plate on the slam panel just above the o/s headlamp. It should have an engine code either beside a box labelled with a capital I or something like Motore-Engine 188A..........
