Punto (Mk2/2b) help !!!

Hi we have a fiat punto on a 53 plate we have a strong smell of burning rubber a misfire and the engine warning light has come on the fan belt seems fine and can't pinpoint where under the bonnet the smell is coming from please help we are stumped with this problem
