HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

T 1999 1.6 16v HLX.
the other day the little red injection light came on. it flashed on and off, with no pattern at all.it didn't stay on for more than a second at a time.that was on thursday.friday it didn't come on as often. the car hasn't been touched all weekend(lads beer weekend in liverpool-still suffering.i'm getting too old!!!!)went for a spin today, no light, but the idling wasn't normal!!the bloody thing stalled on me once as i came to a junction!as i slow down for a junction, and it idles for a bit, the rev counter goes up and down, then settles.because i share a lift for work,i only use it every other week, which is only a round trip of about 15 miles.it's going in on wednesday for a session on a diagnostic computer.any advice would be grateful.

theres a section on eratic idling in the fix a bravo section try looking in there might give u some idea on sorting it cheap rather than a garage to start with

Sounds like a idle cotrol valve. You can clean it, or go to a scrapy - new ones are expensive
