Hi, i am looking to upgrade/change my wheels and alloys on my Fiat Grande Punto 2008, 1.2ltr. I have found some 16" alloys on Ebay but i don't have a clue if they will be compatible with my car, so that's why i'm here! :) The description of the alloys is: "4 - 16inch OZ Alloy wheels, 4 stud - 4 x 100mm. Tyres are Runway performance 926 - 205/50ZR16 91W" I know absolutely nothing about wheels or cars in general, i'm a complete noob XD Thanks in advance.

Runway performance - lol! Those tyres will kill you at the first sign of rain. Do yourself a favour and buy some wheels with premium tyres, there truly is a world of difference.

Ok thank you, as i said I'm a noob so don't know what to look for. Is there anyway for me to easily identify what wheels will fit my car? I'm looking to upgrade to some alloys but don't know what to look for, I've been searching on Ebay as brand new seem to be quite pricey.

Find a good online tire size calculator and you can work out if the size of the new tire and wheel is any bigger than the standard setup, basically the bigger the wheel in your case upgrading from 15 to 16 inch the lower the profile of the tire needs to be, this is in very basic terms as a wider wheel affects the profile measurement but a tire calculator will help work out all the numbers

As for the fitment 4x100 is right for the grande punto but you will also need to know the 'Offset' which is how far in or out the wheel sits

So can i buy any 4 stud 16" alloys for my car and work from there, then get the correct tyres to fit. Or do i have to buy certain alloys?

You need wheels with a 4x100 stud pattern and a similar width and offset, is this is what dictates if the wheel will even fit the car.

Then you can worry about the tire size which is where the tire size calculate comes in.

Ok, thank you. For the width and offset is there a rule to go by as in you can't go over 'X' amount of width or 'X' amount of offset.

Width of grande wheels as standard are 6-6.5 inches I'm not sure exactly what the offset is and this will vary slightly depending on the width of the wheel.

If you take one of the wheels off your car you'll find all the specifications on it somewhere either in the casting if an alloy wheel or stamped into the metal if it's steel

Easy option - buy some original 17inch wheels from a Grande punto sporting, they'll bolt straight on.
