Technical Help with light sensor for dash lights

Hi - newbie, don’t know where to post.
So 2013 500L. The instrument lights dim in bright light. There must be a sensor somewhere, right?
I’ll keep searching the forum, but so far no luck.
Help?

I saw your post and although I don’t have a 500L I Thought it may be like some other European cars and is on the windscreen where the rear view mirror is mounted
