Technical help wiring alarm

i dont know if it was a bad earth as the doors only lock & open with the new alarm if both doors are at the same state(both locked or unlocked), but who cares it works now, so far the anti-hijack system, locking & indicators work, and the alarm can't be armed when the engines on so the acc wire's right,

how do i get a wire from the engine bay to the fusebox area....?? and can anyone give me a hand with the remote start

ta

anyone understand this remote start circuit?

..oh and how can i wire in the siren from the engine bay?

anyone help me on that, and what colour wire makes either the oil pressure light or battery light come on,

i know you're probably fed up with me but.. oh well, i've got the car to start using remote start, but once i've pressed the button on the fob it keeps trying to start itself, luckily i've stopped it in time before its tried to start itself with the engine on, does anyone know how i can get it to just start once when i press the button, that's the only problem i'm having, then i can stick the car alarm away for good...

the button on the fob's got to be pressed twice, first time it's pressed it's as if the key's been turned once, (lights come up on dash, petrol needle moves etc..) except they only do that for a second then it dies, could this be dodgy wiring on my part, i feel like the lights should be on for longer?

thanks for any help :)

Hi mate,

Have you connect the oil pressure sensor wire yet? As some remote start alarms only know that the engine has started once they get a signal confirming there is oil pressure (ie the engine is running...hence oil pressure)

If you still need the colours i can look them up for you.

Good luck,
Alan

yeah i think i do need the colour for the oil pressure sensor, i think i plugged the wire into the alternator light (guessing thats the battery light on dash), but i think the wire for the oil pressure sensor sounds a safer bet,

would you know if my remote start circuit is set up right if i took a picture of what i've connected?

omg i wanted to do my own alarm. gd job mate

sorry this is a pointless reply to u but good job (y)

thanks, it's a bit of a mission, have you done your alarm then or got someone else to do it?

here's the remote start circuit pic for anyone who knows their stuff, i'm almost positive i've done something wrong

i keep having new questions come to mind, if i connect up the oil pressure wire, will the engine keep trying to start till it's fired up, or start once and require me to press the button on the fob again?

They do vary depending on the system, but often, they will keep trying to start the car untill it recieved the oil pressure signal (ie when the engine is started and running, the oil pressure will reach the required pressure and the engine oil pressure switch will be activated wich will send a signal to the alarm telling it that the engine is running and therefore it will not continue trying to start it....that all happens in tenths of seconds of course!! lol)

If you leave the lights turned on, would they come on as well with the remote start?

I can't wait to freak people out with mine!
