take t'nternet cable out of router, and plug it into the laptop

Take it back then - if it is hardware problems you can't touch it due to warranty

It will be a mini-PCI card I guess, dead cheap to replace but these problems are usually router based, are you sure the others don't go dead? Do you know if your dad would notice?

i was on my brothers before and it was fine, was on my dads yesterday and it was fine, the router is fine, its this computer that has a disliking to it.

its not disconnected sonce i took it off and started again so hopefully this has solved the problem
