Hi

My parents are currently in south of France in our 2.8tdi hymer (2000) on the way down they stopped over night because of the snow . In the morning the van started fine but my dad tried to pull off with the engine still cold and he stalled it and then It would not restart . The RAC recovered it to a garage and they diagnosed a fuel filter and changed it . The garage never took it for a run before handing it back to my parents and they went on there way but soon realised the van is now massively down on power . Van starts perfectly and seems to run ok but know power and was perfect before this issue . Any thoughts as to the issue ,would the wrong filter cause this ?

Is it smoking? Tons of things it could be if its cold enough diesel could be gelling, could be split turbo hose, boost leak, small hose to the lda on the pump.

No smoke , I wondered whether the turbo hoses had been disturbed when they removed the air filter to get to the diesel filter
