Gonna make a panel for the passenger side well on the dashs tomorrow, and sink a touchscreen vga monitor into it for the pc.
Just hoping to get some ideas from people who have made a panel for this already (know wimmy has) and what to use. Also what to cover it with?

Ta in advance.

I used a sheet of perspex to cover it. Unfortunately that wont work if you are putting a screen in it and it also left it quite fragile.
I will be doing it again soon on the HGT but have had a diffent idea for doing it. Going to drill a couple of holes in it then use foam filler. Then get it to roughly the same shape and use normal filler on top.
It wont have to be really smooth as I will be using some wadding before puttin the material over it.

bend some perspex over it and cover it in your material

thanks wimmy,
thought about using some of that flexible mdf as i've got to make a frame for the screen to sit in flush, then blend that to the panel to make it all look as one piece. The monitor will be angled as well and not flush fitted in the panel, hence having to make a separate frame from mdf and blend it all in. (if you can understand that!)

will be interested to see how you get on with your hgt. good idea about the foam, as it might be a good idea to help support the panel and stop rattles.

cheers

Or you could stretch fabric over it and firbeglass it, you could then mould the screen in. It would be a bit more work but would look loads better

re

I'd go with Wimmy's idea! expandable foam is a really useful tool!
