Help Please

I have a Bravo 1.2SX 2001 Got an amber light coming on and off on dash, handbook says its they Engine control system failure [EOBD].Car is running but with what feels like a misfire!!!!! Book says contact main Dealership but dont they always! Anybody any ideas Please

When was it last serviced?

It could be the HT leads or spark plugs if it its missfiring, worth doing this yourself as it will be cheaper than 1 hours worth of garage fees?

If a plug or a lead had gone down would that put the amber light on,on the dash?

Sorry it was serviced 5K ago!!

Yes it will most likely throw up a fault, I had a split lead which caused the light to flicker and was also running on 3 out of 4 cylinders, changed the plugs and leads and it sorted it out.

The light may be on but a local garage with diagnostic equipment could reset for you for a small fee.

I think this the problem, not 100% though as it could be anything, but its worth doing the cheap and easy things before paying a garage to do the same. Did you change the HT leads when the car was serviced?

No the leads wasn,t changed,so as you say i will change them and the plugs for what they cost! Fingers crossed
