help please

does any1 know where i cud get a air con pump, the main pump bit for less that 300£? been told that is how much it is like. also.... wen i went 2 av the air con regassed, the man found a leak..it was from a park near the radiator..he did say wat it was,started with a "C". well he got it up on his laptop,and said it was 210£ so ive paid it now but is that steep? seams it for just a part..then again i dont know like. i would of thort it could have been welded as it is alu. neway that is paid for carnt go back now. also do ne1 know where i cud get ne other cheap parts from, as i may have 2 have the engine out forthat engine whine i got. if it did cum out what should i change?

Try a scrap yard for the pump your bound to find one theres loads in the scrappies round here.
And if the engine is comeing out get the cam belt (tensioner and bearing)and all the other belts changes while it's out .
And you might whant to make sure the water pump is ok too while it's out.

Cambelt and water pump for definite, clutch may also be worthwhile.

ye was thinkin the clutch aswel like.the bloke thinks it maybe a bearing gone sumwhere.. i was hoping it may be somewhere in the alternator but i duno like, have to wait and see when he as a look at it. how much u think u cud pick a aircon pump up for from a scrapie? bloody cars lol always in yr pocket with them

Dunno about the pump but the whining noise could certainly be your alt. Mine went earleir this year and since being reconditioned my engine bay is much quieter.

@ All - Does anyone know if all the aircon pumps on all the models of the Bravo are the same?

@ Ryan - There is a scrappy on the road oppisite the 3 blackbirds, they had 3 Bravo's there in Feb, long time ago i know, but worth a try...

yea was the compressor near the radiator. i dun think i can go 2 weston wheels either now asthe oldman dun reckon it wud b save or nethin am gutted 2 fuk al ma mates off like. if it was the alternator tho..it wud b ok 2 drive wudnt it really for a bit( meainin down 2 weston) lol

As long as the battery light doewsn't come on the alt is working fine. Just gets noisy towards the end of it's life it would seem.
