Hey guys,

Got my T jet on thursday and feeling the need to upgrade the sound system already ......

I do not know much about car audio but would like to learn, and if possible would like to install some of the gear myself as to save a few bob!

I do not want to replace the HU as i like the blue and me.

My budget is kinda low,i'm not sure how much but definitely under £300.

For this reason, im thinking, a 4 channel amp, then just upgrading all the speakers. (excluding tweaters)

please advise on what speakers are good etc as i have no clue.

Please also tell me if you have a better idea for the car with a budget of about £250!

Many thanks,

Hi there is plenty of info in here Just have a search and see what others have done.

If you really want to keep the HU then get one of these babies

They are worth every penny.

A 3 or 4 channel amp would be ideal. On that Budget i would certainly be looking at JBL. They are excellent VFM.

Also you really aught to change the tweeters by buying a full component set. Its a pretty easy job to do and the tweeters are about the worst part of the System in your car.

thanks for the amazingly quick reply Pal!

Got a few questions ...

1.What is the Genesis S3 Highlevel Interface?
2. Surely i would need an amp with more channels for six speakers (including tweaters)?
3. Whats a componant set ?

Thanks again.

It takes the signal from your speakers and converts it to a low level suitable for an amp. An aftermarket Head Unit will have RCA outputs for an amp but the standard one doesnt.

Component speakers consist of 2 mid bass 2 tweeters and a x-over. The x-over takes the signal from the amp and then splits it between the mids and tweeters filtering the unwanted frequencies to each.
